Bellman Supervisor

Experience on bell staff 1 year (preferred). Previous experience supervising people is highly desirable.

Position Purpose:

Supervises the bell staff and valet insuring all standards are being met as they greet and escort arriving and departing guests to and from their accommodations.

Essential Functions:

  • Train and review performance of the members of the bell and valet staff.  Create and manage the weekly schedule for the bell and valet staff, adhering to the budget allotted.  

  • Attend tie-down meetings with group VIP’s to insure groups needs are met.  Orchestrate and handle group’s special room deliveries, shipping and receiving needs, transportation, and any other staffing needs associated with group’s needs.

  • Assure valet staff greet guests immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome.  Insure the bell staff escort customers to accommodations, while visually inspecting rooms and telephoning any deficiencies to the proper departments. As well as, describe the features of the room, while using the directories for reference. Remain calm and attentive especially during heavy hotel activity and emergencies. Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice. Answers questions and offer assistance giving accurate information regarding outlet hours, other hotel services, directions to local attractions or function rooms, car rentals, air-line shuttle service, etc.

  • Retrieve guest items from cars, busses, vans and carts. Grasp, lift, carry and/or load luggage and packages weighing up to 125 lbs. onto a bell cart to transport items throughout hotel to designated room. Navigate bell carts through public areas, guest room corridors and to elevators. Requires physical stamina to stand, lift, carry and walk continuously for duration of shift.

Other Duties:

Assimilate into The Hilton Family culture through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards.


Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Hilton from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.

Supportive Functions:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the captain based upon the particular requirements of the company.


  • Retrieve and input data from a computer terminal in an accurate, error-free manner.

  • Answer the bell desk phone and provides information as needed.
