Beach Attendant

Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma preferred. CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.

Experience:

Prior experience in guest services and/or beach services is preferred.

About the Role:

Full-time and seasonal position that requires the individual to provide beach chair and umbrella rental services to guests and owners.  Help in maintaining a safe and enjoyable swimming and relaxing environment to all guests.

Essential Functions:

• Ensuring equipment and area are clean and in safe working order.
• Sets up chairs, umbrellas, watersports, and volleyball courts as needed.
• Maintains proper care, use, and inventory control of all beach equipment.
• Assists in the Recreation Department activities.

Supportive Functions:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, at the discretion of the manager based on the particular requirements of the hotel.

• Acts in a courteous, helpful, and efficient manner when dealing with guests and owners.
• Makes sure equipment, beach area, and personal appearance are neat and clean.
• Be knowledgeable of the beach area and surrounding areas (restaurants, activities, etc.) in order to convey information to the guests.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude.

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

• Must enjoy working on the beach.
• Must be able to tolerate environmental conditions, sometimes extreme.
• Knowledge of sports and ability to swim required.
• Must have good eyesight and hearing.
• Enjoy and support Hotel guests as well as other employees.
• Maintains a positive attitude while working strenuously.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., carry, reach, bend and twist.
