Five years experience in application of paint and other related materials in a large organization preferred. Also, experience in simulating material finishes using paint, such as marble and wood.

Position Purpose:

To maintain and repair painted, wall covered, stained and varnished surfaces of building structure, furniture and equipment throughout the facility in order to project a neat and well maintained appearance.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare and paint surfaces of building structure, furniture and equipment using proper application techniques, various products and visual ability to identify colors and patterns, measure lengths and quantities and assess areas for repair. Plaster or spackle surfaces; mix paint colors to match existing colors and apply paint to all building and equipment surfaces with brushes, rollers and spray guns. Climb ladders, scaffolds or use a lift to reach heights up to 30 feet. Work in confined spaces and awkward positions, requiring crouching, kneeling, stooping and reaching overhead for extend periods of time. Grasp hand tools and lift, push and/or pull items up to 600 lbs. is required, with wheeled assistance.
  • Install and repair covered wall and ceiling surfaces throughout the facility. Hang vinyl, paper, fabric and foil wall coverings of various weights.
  • Maintain and repair caulked, grouted and masonry surfaces throughout the facility. Requires caulking, grouting, plastering and setting tiles, cinder block/brick and cement work.
  • Prepare and maintain wood surfaces requiring staining, varnishing and lacquering. Apply alcohol or water stains and develop a finished product from unstained wood or existing finished wood.

  • Prepare and maintain a control log of all paint, numbers and locations.

Supportive Functions:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.

  • Due to the nature of the business the individual may be required to do other duties and special projects as assigned such as water proofing, shop cleanup and labeling of hazardous materials.


Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Hilton from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Hilton rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Employees who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
