About the Role:

To set up and clear tables, stock all service stations, and assist food servers with table service to ensure total guest satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

  • Clears dirty table settings quickly and prepares table for resetting. Resets all service ware promptly and consistently, as prescribed.
  • Maintains stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment including silverware, linen, and glassware.

  • Transports all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area for proper cleaning.
  • Retrieves room service equipment from guest floors, service elevator, foyers and public areas, involving lifting, loading and carrying trays weighing up to 50 lbs., or pushing wheeled carts to sort items at ware wash area.
  • Serves guests with beverages to begin their dining experience and replenish as necessary.

Supportive Functions:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, at the discretion of the manager based on the particular requirements of the hotel.

  • Performs general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products, as assigned by supervisor, to adhere to health standards.
  • Folds napkins for all meal periods throughout the day to maintain an adequate supply.
  • Performs other duties as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills or special guest requests, to ensure total guest satisfaction.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
  • Ability to understand verbal English to comprehend basic guest requests. Ability to understand written English to read any caution or safety notices.
  • Ability to grasp, lift, and/or carry, or otherwise, transport up to 50 lbs. through a crowded room.
  • Ability to move or push goods on a hand cart or truck weighing a maximum of 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for an extended period of time.
